Superb boat, very comfortable and very easy to handle. Excellent maintenance. A week's stay with sometimes quite a bit of wind but a very comfortable and easy to handle boat even in bad weather. We only had 2 small engine problems (dinghy engine and boat engine) with efficient and responsive management. I recommend Colin's boat and will happily repeat the experience.
Pleasant owner contact Satisfactory experience
Very nice boat. Despite its size, it is very maneuverable as long as you put a little power. It is very well maintained, very pleasant. Colin welcomed us very well. These explanations are complete. A great week enjoyed by all team members. Small gaps compared to the use in semi deep sea which can easily be corrected. Thank you for this beautiful week.
Very pleasant contact with Colin. Maximum availability. Quick answers to our questions. Very safe boat. Real performance in heavy weather. We are determined to do other relaxing cruises with SAMOS! Thanks again.
Colin is very friendly and accommodating. The boat is in very good condition, spacious and pleasant to sail. I highly recommend renting this boat!
(continued), It was agreed between us, during the return of the boat, that Mr. Colin Le Bihan will not intervene in the incident on the damaged annex, taking into account, on the one hand, that his Océanis 41 suffered no damage as evidenced by the inventory at the end of the rental and that it was returned to him in good condition. Which cannot be disputed! And, secondly, that I have all the contact details of the owner of the boat with the damaged annex. A few days after our return, I made a declaration to my insurance and sent a copy to Click&Boat. Shortly after, Click&Boat, told me to my great astonishment that Mr Le Bihan was demanding the withholding of €940 from the deposit without providing an explanation or a supporting estimate under the pretext of “feeling embarrassed”! Despite my efforts and correspondence with supporting documents, Click&Boat debited my deposit of €940. After several e-mails, I again proved to Click&Boat and to Mr. Le Bihan that I had telephone and e-mail exchanges with the owner of the damaged annex who sent me the invoice for his new annex for 399 € including tax. And that the latter is also informed in writing of my declaration to my insurance. A few days later, Click&Boat sent an email to Mr. Le Bihan and myself to inform us of the closure of this incident. Then the €940 was returned to my bank account. This did not prevent Mr. Le Bihan from asking again for €940 of “temporary deposit”! Finally, Click&Boat sent an email to Mr. Le Bihan and myself to confirm the closure of this incident. So much time and energy wasted!
An unfortunately very mixed rental experience. Colin is a nice and accommodating owner, but he is a business man. He has no time, everything is done in a hurry. He clearly does not sail his boat intensively, which is reflected in his condition. Over 6 days of navigation (7 days of rental minus 1 for the following reasons) we had 3 engine failures. The boat is nice, perfect for up to 6 people and the rental price is reasonable. But, despite a recent refit, the boat was not up to date with maintenance: the running rigging is worn to the code (no pun intended), so much so that the ends slip in their jamming cleats, making fine adjustments impossible in strong winds. The toilets did not pump sea water. All electronic instruments are complete but only 2/3 worked, or even 0 when due to lack of motor we reach the end of the batteries, the same goes for the electric windlass, the pilot, etc. . And as the nautical documentation is incomplete we quickly find ourselves helpless without electronics (e.g. no nautical instructions on board, SHOM or others, no bearing compass, etc.). The engine failures forced us to change our navigation program, to sail into port with a short crew, created a good dose of stress, and ultimately to return the boat a day early. In summary, this boat is good for owner outings in good weather, but inadequate as it is for rental to tenants from far away who expect reliability and full enjoyment. As a business man, Colin ultimately did not want to fully recognize the damage suffered, certainly based on the idea that this rental cost him more than reported; is it our fault? It’s a real shame, especially since the crew handled the disappointments flexibly in the interest of the boat and its owner.
Very friendly owner. Just a problem of insufficient on-board battery to hold the charge, but this concern will certainly be taken into account by Colin and then the boat will become very pleasant again in all situations.
