Ian welcomes us with attention. He listens and does everything to make us feel comfortable and to make the cruise go as well as possible. It is up to us to respect the place as if we were at home. The boat is comfortable and efficient. The kitchen is huge with fridge and freezer, oven and everything needed for cooking. We appreciated Ian's help in preparing meals. Our two teenage girls particularly appreciated the bathroom to shower in complete privacy. A very nice cruise that met our expectations with a mix of sailing / relaxation. The choices were relevant according to the weather. We will come back with pleasure, thank you again for these beautiful moments of sharing and discoveries
We have enjoyed a very good experience on our first sailing on a sailboat. Yann is a very experienced skipper, he taught us how to perform some maneuvers while we helped him. We have been to paradisiacal places in Santa Lucia. Good conversations with him at night enjoying a good planteur, and we enjoyed the tropical fruit that they brought us by boat to the sailboat. He has helped us with transportation to Castries to see the capital. We will repeat the experience, we are looking forward to it again.
Yann provided us with an exceptional sailboat experience in Martinique. With extensive sailing knowledge, he adeptly guided us, adjusting plans to suit weather conditions and our needs. He is a great tutor and showed patience with our learning. His culinary skills impressed, and his communication in English was top-notch. Plus, despite his boat not being in its newest condition, Yann ensured our comfort and safety throughout the journey. Highly recommend!
There were 3 of us, and we had a superb stay with Yann. A superb navigation between Martinique and Saint Lucia. The boat is very well equipped, comfortable and spacious. The living and sailing equipment is in excellent condition. Yann our host and skipper was great. The advice for visiting, the navigation, the experience, the welcome, the discussions... it will stay in our heads for a long time! We left these 3 days delighted. And we will come back ?
Ian was a very pleasant and attentive host. His boat, no longer very young, satisfied us.
Great welcome, great atmosphere, a skipper with great skills!! Beautiful navigations and relevant choices. Thanks Ian
Very pleasant stay with Ian Richard. A good listener and teacher, he was able to help us spend 3 unforgettable days! We recommend !!
We had a very nice and very good stay on Yannick's sailboat to discover Saint Lucia thanks again
Experienced and welcoming sailor. Flexible, Richard made us discover the islands at our own pace. Great
We had an excellent cruise with Richard, who was able to show us all his corners of paradise in the Grenadines.
Sailboat Charter Review (August 9-12): A Disappointing Experience Unfortunately, our experience renting a sailboat from August 9 to 12 was a huge disappointment. We paid €1500 expecting to enjoy a unique experience, but what we received was far from what was promised. From the beginning, expectations were not met. The advertisement mentioned that the sailboat was equipped with wake surfing, paddle surfing and a freezer. However, upon arrival, we found a very different reality. The freezer was told to us that it did not work; the skipper, who was also the owner of the sailboat, tried to excuse himself by saying at the end of the stay that "it is not that it did not work, but that it was not running." This was very frustrating for us, since we had bought food that spoiled due to the lack of freezing. Regarding wake surfing and paddle surfing, the situation was even worse. The owner informed us, when we asked him inside the boat, that the wake surfing was not available. And about the paddle surfing, he simply did not mention it. Only at the end of the trip, when we insisted, he told us that he had it deflated and that we should have asked for it... It is unheard of that something included in the advertisement is not mentioned from the start or is not available! Another negative point was the lack of basic amenities. The sheets provided were old and had a musty smell, which is not acceptable when paying such a sum for four days. We had to bring the towels ourselves but he did not mention it in the call we had, in general he does not mention it much. Also, access to fresh water was limited; every time we wanted to use it, we had to connect it, which complicated the experience. The outside shower, the only one available, had very little pressure, and to top it off, he told us that the inside shower was only for women and an intimate shower in case we were embarrassed to use the outside one, which seemed absurd to us and made us uncomfortable. The worst was the skipper's behavior regarding food. Although we understand that we can share our food, what is not acceptable is that he ate it in secret, and even used products that we had bought for other purposes, such as refilling his hand soap bottle with our dish soap that he asked us to bring. This behavior was not only inappropriate, but it created an uncomfortable environment throughout the stay, hiding food in his cupboards so he could keep it later. He also "forced" us a bit to eat "come on, it's time for a snack" type meals, when perhaps we didn't feel like it. Finally, whenever we wanted to visit somewhere, he always made excuses: that it would take too long, that we couldn't anchor where we wanted, when other boats were clearly doing so. He also never offered us free use of the zodiac, something we expected considering what we had paid. In short, our experience was very disappointing. We paid a considerable price expecting quality service and a pleasant experience, but we received the opposite. I would not recommend this sailboat or the owner at all. The positive comments we saw before booking are far from the reality we live. We would have been much better off paying for a ferry and getting a good hotel for this price. ------------- Owner's response: "Simple answers for very young adults who, in the end, did not know how to manage their frustrations other than with hurtful comments. It is essential to communicate openly during the cruise, without waiting to get home to express yourself. Due to navigational constraints, most notably customs formalities and the proximity of Cyclone Ernesto, I had to make decisions to ensure the safety of the crew. I adjusted the schedule to avoid dangerous anchorages, which some seemed to misunderstand. Concerns about food supplies and water use on board were, in my opinion, exaggerated. In addition, I made it clear that some equipment required specific knowledge, and I remained available to transport the crew when necessary. Better cooperation and mutual understanding would have really improved our experience at sea, allowing everyone to get the most out of this adventure.
Beautiful 10 day navigation in the Grenadines which gives time to leisurely discover the sites. Ian is an experienced navigator and listens to the wishes of his travelers which is very appreciable. Thanks again !
A big thank you to Yann who took great care of us during a week of cruising to Marie Galante and Dominica. Thanks to some night navigation we were able to make the most of various visits and walks, notably the famous Boiling Lake hike in the Morne Trois Pitons national park, unforgettable. The boat is not brand new, of course, but the navigator is super competent and shares his way of life with us. To do again!
Good navigation captain pro Pleasant stay. Nice anchorages.. Grab your towels.. Shower with a trickle of water.. you need to know
