Do yourself a favor and avoid renting this boat. It's old, and many parts aren't working properly. The agency staff were friendly, but that wasn't enough to make up for the boat's numerous issues. We experienced problems throughout our two-week rental. It's disappointing to have your vacation marred by a poorly maintained boat.
We were a crew of 6 people plus skipper and it was our first time doing this, so we didn't know much about it and what to expect, so overall the experience was very good. Starting from the check in process, everything went smoothly. We hired Ivo Skracic as a skipper and were very happy with his skills and his willingness to share his knowledge. He even dedicated his time and prepared us a delicious "brudet". Our destinations around Kornati, Dugi otok and Pasman were covered running on diesel motors, mostly because of the weather, as we didn't have a good wind and catamarans are slow when it comes to sailing on a low wind. Engines are quite loud so don't expect to enjoy sounds from the sea and silence, but after a day or two, you get used to it. When it comes to inventory of the catamaran, everything was good, but for a catamaran 10 years old, we expected more things to run and work smoothly. Yes, it will float and everything important will work, but in our honest opinion, it is missing constant maintenance and fixing small things. There were some unpleasant smells coming from toilets during the trip that could be overcomed with keeping the windows open. In the beginning, charging of mobile phones was an issue as power sockets would only work when a ship is connected to the power grid in the marina. Lucky for us, we had a car lighter adapter with usb port that enabled us to, surely but slowly charge our phones and other power consuming devices. There was a constant queue for charging and sometimes, you would need to pick a number. During the night, battery level would go below 12V, so alarms were fired. Nothing serious, but some small and tiny details will keep you busy during the day and night. To sum it up, the overall experience was very good. If you are expecting that everything will work smoothly, rent a boat that is not 10 years old. On the other side, if you have a good skipper and are equipped with power banks, earplugs for day naps, and will not notice some small things, you would be happy with cabins, space and inventory that catamaran will offer.
Hi, MYD was a good company, boat was in good condition, prepared on time and sheets and towels were ready and clean. Sanja was good. We hired Mislav as our skipper and I would not recommend him. First impression was bad: lying on the couch with his phone, explaining that he was really tired and wanted to switch cabin with ours because he didn't want to go to his which was too small for him. He then expressed a bored and upset face each time we prepared food for him (=every lunch). Of course never said thank you. Finally the most annoying was that he favoured the motor the entire trip and didn't want to sail. We had to constantly argue to make him understand that his job was to take us where WE wanted to go in a safely manner. He responded that it was why he dislikes French people (!!). We understood why when he finally put the sails on: he only knows the basic and his lack of experience is obvious. He doesn't like being a skipper and that says it all.
It has been a disaster, they have treated us badly, but also the boat had been reserved for 9 months and when we arrived they were looking at it, it had a breakdown and we lost the first night. In the end they did not change our boat and they delivered it to us dirty, without fuel and with minor breakdowns (the engine held up in the end). On the way back it says in the contract that you finish at 9 a.m. on Saturday and on Friday at 5 p.m. they already made us return, a shame.
The photos from the boat are much better than the live ones. The boat had a well used and not very well maintained appearance. Stained sofa, loose outer sofa cushions, incomplete crockery. It lacked a bit of whimsy. About the communication, I found it very weak. I've done other boat rentals before, and it was much better.
