At Oceans Evasion, there are many different types of yacht hires to choose from. It can be overwhelming to decide which one is right for you, but we are here to help! Typically, if you are searching for a short trip, you may be more inclined to hire a RIB or motorboat for your holiday. These yachts come in smaller sizes and can help you explore coastal regions easily! In contrast, if you want to travel for longer, you can charter a sailboat, catamaran, or gulet. They can take you very far and can be very spacious, making these types of boat ideal for week-long journeys. If you are worried about navigating unfamiliar waters or not having a boating license, you can also opt for hiring a skipper with your yacht!
Split, Croatia has a typical Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and cold winters. During the summer months, there is consistent sunshine and the temperature is around 30 degrees Celsius. However, the temperature can drop to nearly 0 degrees during the winter. The best time to visit Split would be from June to September, as the temperature is hot, the sun is shining, and there is little to no rain! To make things better, the summers are not unbearable because the temperatures drop at night and the sea brings in a nice breeze.
When searching through our website, you may notice that many yachts come with the option of a skipper and/or crew. While this adds an additional cost to your boat hire, it can make your overall experience more enjoyable. For example, a professional skipper will take care of all the sailing, docking, and anchoring. They will also be able to tailor your journey according to your wishes, showing you more of what you like and less of what you don’t. As you can see, there are many benefits to having a skipper join you on your yacht hire in Split. While they handle the work, you can sit back and enjoy the gorgeous scenery.
The main port of Split is located on the waterfront, however, the largest marina is ACI Marina which can be found to the right of the city. One of the most popular beaches near the Old Town of Split is Kašjuni Beach. You’ll be greeted by silky sands, clear waters, and top-tier restaurants. The best part? This beach is protected by the winds thanks to Marjan Hill, so you’ll never have to worry about windy days. You can also head to Žnjan or Trstenik Beach if you want to see where the locals go. These beaches are connected by a walkway, so there is plenty of space on the shores for larger groups such as families and friends. If you need an action-packed holiday, you’ll find the chance to scuba dive, snorkel, and jet ski!
If you decide to navigate off of the coast, you can head to some of the amazing nearby islands! For starters, you can visit the island of Brač, the largest island in the Dalmatian region. We recommend going to Zlatni Rat Beach. It is known for its unique triangular shape and crystal clear waters, making it one of the most popular beaches in all of the Mediterranean. If you decide to visit, you should know that this beach also changes shape! Due to the sharp pointed tip of the shore, it is easily influenced by the wind and water currents, curving to either side.
Of course, you can also head to the island of Hvar. This island is rich in Croatian culture and remarkable natural beauty. In particular, it is known for its traditional architecture, vast fields of lavender, and buzzing nightlife. If you want to explore the beaches, we recommend Beach Dubovica. This little oasis is barely accessible by land, so a yacht hire is an ideal way to reach the secluded beach. There are also many beaches near Hvar Town such as Pokonji Dol. These are perfect for families and young friend groups alike as you can spend the day enjoying the glistening waters and then head into the centre in the evening for restaurants and bars.
In Split, private yachts are available for hires. See your options in the area.
