Rating 1 because we can't give 0 Summary of our day: - Meeting at 9:00 am in St Florent (we come from Calvi to visit the beaches of Lotu, Saleccia and to go back up to Cap Corse by boat) so 1h30 of road - Arrival of the rental company at 10:20 am (he sent us an email at 0.35 the day before, to tell us that he would come at 9:30 am) - Time to launch and inventory, departure at 10:50 am... start of the day well started... INVENTORY OF THE FITTINGS - Dirty boat and in poor general condition with a lot of water in the hold The rental company tells us that the boat is dirty because of a water shortage (!!!!) and that the pump is working - Departure: boat sluggish and very noisy, 45 mins to arrive at Saleccia - We settle down to enjoy and lunch there -At 1:45 p.m. we weigh anchor to return to Lotu beach (given the state of the boat and the time, we abandon the plan to go up to Cap Corse) -Off Saleccia, 500 meters from the beach: ENGINE FAILURE After multiple calls to the rental company who gave us troubleshooting advice, one of us swam to a boat moored offshore, to tow us as close as possible to the beach -5 hours of waiting for the water taxi to pick us up, the firefighters came who warned the CROSS who followed the progress until we arrived on land, of our epic During this time while looking for the breakdown we were able to see: - that the pump was not working because it was not discharging the water (we had to bail it out) - that rats had made their nest in the engine, this could explain the breakdown....) - that this boat was absolutely not maintained apart from its dirty appearance from the start... The rental company who had agreed to reimburse us the sum of €317, after many exchanges, after 6 days, transferred us the sum of €260 telling us to sort out the difference with the site... We no longer expect anything from this rental company, however we expect a refund of the difference from the site It is just a shame to rent a boat in this state because in addition to spoiling the day offered to our children, we felt in danger and very insecure. More vigilance on your part on the quality of your rental companies is required and a refund of the entire amount committed is expected (i.e. €57)
Unfortunately we had a bad experience..... One of our criteria was the sun rate. When we arrived at the boat, the tau was not there. 2 parasols were in the boat as replacements, including one damaged and torn canvas.... not very practical!! The boat was not clean and left with crumbs from the day before, and the owner gave it a quick jet wash in the morning... The highlight of the day was that the ink came loose (rope that held it completely damaged) and the boat drifted!!! Finally, the boat is not maintained. Very bad experience....

Alain very kindly contacted me to finalize the rental. During our appointment, we discovered that the space reserved for our vehicle was not available. Luckily we found a free place on the other side of the area. Despite a sunny and joyful day, everything did not go perfectly. We were surprised to find that the canvas described in the ad to provide minimal protection from the sun was unavailable, folded in a compartment, because the frame (loose in the boat) had been broken by a user. With two young children and in the heat, we had to buy a parasol for €22 just before leaving on Alain's advice, which was pretty average. When we arrived in the beautiful Corsican coves, we noticed that the ladder to get back on board, mentioned in the advertisement, was missing and probably broken for some time. This complicated things, especially with a wife and two children. Finally, just before our planned return, we learned that we had to return the boat to its home base without the presence of the owner, who had been detained for personal reasons. Finally, finding the fuel flap was a real hassle because we hadn't been briefed. And having to take care of putting everything back in order alone is uncomfortable. In our opinion, the announcement does not reflect reality, but the EFR remains reliable with its 70 horsepower engine, which is not at all energy-consuming. We thank Alain for his kindness.
