Our time sailing with Maria has been a highlight of our travels across Croatia, Italy and Greece. Maria could not have done anymore to make our day a memorable experience and I would encourage anyone visiting Santorini to not miss this opportunity. Warm, welcoming and knowledgeable, Maria was able to strike perfect balance of private luxury and island adventure. Amazing value compared to anything we have experienced across Santorini and other European waters. If we are lucky enough to return, we cannot wait to sail with Maria again one day.

Christos is a fantastic boat host. His boat came with sandwiches, snacks and refreshments. There were towels, goggles, and floating noodles as well. He took his time teaching us how to drive before we took it out for the day, allowing us to feel safe in the Santorini waters. I highly recommend Christos!

How much does it cost to rent a sailboat in Santorini?

When booking a sailboat charter in Santorini, there are a number of factors that can affect the cost. The model of the sailboat, the number of people it can accommodate, the duration of the charter, and any extra amenities you choose to add all play a role in determining the final price.

One important thing to keep in mind is that while the price may seem high initially, but if you're looking for an exclusive experience, this is certainly one way to go about it!

The harbors in Santorini

With plenty of options to choose from, you can find a dock that perfectly suits your needs. From smaller coves where you can anchor in tranquility to bustling hubs with all the amenities, Santorini offers something for everyone.

The most popular harbor is located in Fira, the capital of Santorini. Fira Harbor also has a range of amenities such as restaurants, shops, and bars. Plus, it's located close to some of the island's best attractions, such as its iconic caldera views and black sand beaches.

Vlichada Harbor is another great option for those looking to charter a sailboat in Santorini. Located between Oia and Akrotiri on the eastern side of the island, Vlichada is ideal for those who prefer more secluded spots away from the hustle and bustle of Fira. This harbor offers stunning views of the Aegean Sea and is surrounded by beautiful cliffs and crystal-clear waters - perfect for relaxation or exploration.

If you're looking for a more laid-back atmosphere, there are several small marinas around Santorini including Amoudi Bay in Oia and Monolithos Marina on Karterados beach. These quieter locations provide an idyllic setting with plenty of room to moor your boat while still being within easy reach of all the main attractions on offer on the island.

Wherever you decide to berth your sailboat in Santorini, you'll be sure to have an unforgettable experience cruising around this beautiful Mediterranean paradise. With plenty of options available, finding the perfect spot for you will be a breeze!

Renting a sailboat with or without a skipper

If you’ve been dreaming of a sailing holiday in Santorini, you’ll find that there are two ways to book a sailboat charter: with or without a skipper. Both options have their advantages and the one that is right for you will depend on your experience level and the type of adventure you are looking for.

If you don’t have any sailing experience, the best option for you is to hire a skipper. A skipper will be able to teach you the basics of sailing and help you navigate the waters of Santorini. They also know all the best spots for swimming, snorkeling, and sightseeing. Plus, having an experienced captain on board can give you peace of mind that your journey will be safe and enjoyable.

On the other hand, if you do have some sailing experience and want to take your vacation into your own hands, then a bareboat charter is a great way to explore Santorini’s beautiful coastline. With this type of charter, you get complete freedom as captain and crew – it’s all up to you where to go and when! Plus, no need to worry about additional expenses such as food and drinks for the skipper – it’s all included in the boat rental cost.
